Oedipus the King & Medea

Complete Works Theatre Company is looking for 3 Melbourne based actors to join our ensemble performing Oedipus the King and Medea for VCE English Students.

We are casting multiple roles, including the key role of Oedipus. We are committed to celebrating diversity and inclusion, and as such encourage applications from actors of all ethnicities, backgrounds, genders, perspectives and experiences.

We are seeking talented actors who:     

• Display an understanding of and passion for classical text

• Can inhabit multiple characters with emotional clarity and vulnerability

• Enjoy touring and display an ease in communicating with teenagers

Overall dates: Monday 1 July – Tuesday 20th August, 2024

Remuneration: Above MEAA Award

Compulsory: Current Drivers license and Working With Children Check

Audition Dates:

Wednesday 8th May – 1.00pm – 9.00pm
Thursday 9th May – 1.00pm – 9.00pm
Saturday 11th May – 10.00am – 3.00pm

Please submit via the application form (below). If you are successful in securing an audition time, you will be asked to prepare two contrasting classical monologues, with at least one from either Oedipus or Medea.
